Step 5 ->
The Importance of Keyword Research
Your offers, web pages and online content (such as videos, articles and podcasts) will only be found by your prospects on the internet if
- you use the right keywords and
- you achieve high-page ranking on the search engines, particularly Google.
You can buy ‘page ranking’ by using a pay-per-click advertising service, such as Google Adwords. However, we favour ranking your content using ‘Search Engine Optimisation’ – simply stated, this is the correct use of targeted keywords.
The benefit of this is that research has shown that only 30% of online surfers will click on a paid advert, which means that 70% favour the organic or ‘free’ listings.
Also, on any front page of search engine results, 42% of people will click on the top organic entry and then around 10% on the second entry with a reducing percentage thereafter.
If we can therefore get your content on Page One (and preferably) near the top of the pages organic entries, this will increase the traffic to your offer page.
However, not all keywords have the same amount of traffic or competition, so we carefully select the keywords that are used by the buyers of your products or service i.e. we are primarily looking for quality (not quantity) of traffic relating to buyers in your local area i.e. those with the highest propensity to buy from you because of location.
